Good practices for instruments to recruit talents towards the public sector
The expectations a researcher has when transitioning from academia to the non-academic public sector; and vice-versa, the employer's expectation when hiring a researcher coming from academia are two perspectives that you will find relevant tools for in this section. Both researcher positions and other type of positions that could fit researchers well are considered. The tools are based on the Charter & Code setting the baseline for the HR values found in Academia.
Special note to the EURAXESS network members
The specificities of this section is to primarily look at recruitment towards the non-academic public sector. This targeted sector is not something the EURAXESS network has a lot of experience with. Most often our focus when moving beyond academia is recruitment to the industry. Therefore, it was important for the EURAXESS Network to better understand both the researchers as job seekers aiming for that sector and the specificities of the employers in the non-academic public sector.

Common values tools for employers and employees
Key points relevant for researchers and employers are available as downloadable Power Point-presentations with the following structure:
- Name of topic
- Name of topic
- Relevant text from the Charter & Code
- List of key points from the researcher perspective (What is important to reflect upon and think about for the researchers as job seekers moving to the non-academic public sector?)
- List of key point from the employer perspective (What should be provided and or expected from the hiring organisations / the employer? The expectations can be from both sides, meaning what the researcher expects, but also what employers should consider when hiring researchers)
- Guidelines on how to use the slides efficiently
This tool can be used to reflect upon topics that are relevant for each target group. There are three downloadable files (PowerPoint) depending on your interest:

This tool is adding value to the tools above, by having at your hand feedback from people who are working or have worked in the non-academic public sector and are researchers. Some still do research while other have chosen a non-researcher career in the public sector. The tool has the following structure:

How to perform workshops and expand your network towards the non-academic public sector
The main goal of this section, is to help any EURAXESS Centre perform workshops to extend their network to researchers working in the non-academic public sector as well as building contacts towards relevant employers in that sector.
Discuss relevant topics for the Charter & Code
The text from the Charter and Code is attached to each topic to helping you guide the participants during the workshop. It shall not be read but used as a background for the discussion or to guide the participants during the discussion. For each topic specific questions are prepared, but of a generic character. The idea is to ensure that you as a host do not influence the discussion in any way but stay as neutral as possible.
